Autumn has come and I haven’t posted any outfit for this season yet, so I guess this will be my first one. I can’t say that this outfit is very suitable for fall but I was playing around with my two recently bought pieces: the brown leather skirt that I got from Atmosphere and the backless blouse bought from a random shop in Bucharest.

I really like the color of the skirt, it’s perfect for fall and the blouse… well, even if it doesn’t suit the season, I love it because I have a ‘thing’ for backless dresses and blouses, therefore I was eager to wear it.

P.S. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram , you have already seen that I’m no longer in Bucharest, last Friday I got back to Belgium.

P.S. Daca ma urmaresti pe Facebook sau Instagram , probabil ai vazut ca nu mai sunt in Bucuresti iar acum doua zile am ajuns in Belgia.

I came to Bucharest three weeks ago… almost a month?!… How quickly time passes!

I don’t really like big and crowded cities, like the capitals, but they give a feeling that they hold many secrets. I think that the richest history of a country is found in such cities, a history filled with secrets. The first capital I ever visited was London, a city which I fell in love with and where I would have liked to settle.

Now, back to the point… why did I come to Bucharest? Although I took a makeup course in Belgium, I wanted to evolve and learn new techniques so I have chosen to come here for a makeup course. Because makeup and hair goes hand in hand I’m also taking a hairstyling class. I have already some pictures on my Facebook Profile but I’m going to post more.

I leave you now in the company of a cute little dog.

Kisses everyone!

Acum va las in compania unui caine mic si dragut.

Va doresc o saptamana frumoasa!

Next day… we woke up early… well, not so early… around 9 o’clock. We went downstairs at the restaurant of the hotel and we had breakfast with a view to the mountains. I must say this is the most relaxing way to enjoy your breakfast.

As I mentioned in my last article, we wanted to climb the Balea Waterfall. Situated at over 1200 meters altitude, Balea Waterfall is the largest waterfall in steps from Romania, with a fall of 60 meters. You can go by car till “Balea Waterfall Chalet” and from there on foot, on a route that takes about two hours. The route is not easy to climb and it took us about an hour to find the road in the first place… we almost gave up but we couldn’t lose this one experience.

A doua zi… ne-am trezit de dimineata… nu chiar asa de dimineata… in jurul orei 9:00.

Dupa cum v-am povestit si in articolul trecut a urmat Cascada Balea.

The next two places on our list were Peles Castle and Bran Castle, the last one is known by tourists as Dracula’s Castle. In fact, historical data does not confirm that it had been the residence of Count Dracula (associated with the Romanian ruler, Vlad the Impaler) because the characters in the novel “Dracula” are the result of the author’s fantasy.

Along the way, however, we realized that we didn’t have enough time to visit both castles. Because they were located in opposite directions and they have short visitation schedule, we chosen to visit only one. So we took the road to the Peles Castle because we heard that it is more beautiful and bigger than the Bran Castle.

The Peles Castle situated in Sinaia and built between the 1873 and 1914, was the summer residence for the Kings of Romania in that period of time. Unfortunately, because of the short schedule we were able to see only the outside of the castle. Instead we visited Pelisorul, a small palace built in the same kingdom as part of the Peles Castle. You’d be surprised to see how the leaders of the country lived in those days, while ordinary people had no elevator, radiator, vacuum cleaner and so much more facilities like they had.

I hope you enjoyed my little escape to the mountains.

Have a good week everyone!

Back to blogging! Even do I can’t post that often as I would like to, I love the idea to have a place where I can share my life experiences with you.

And now… about my holiday in Romania. I really forgot how beautiful my country is! Like every year, me and my boyfriend decided initially to spend our holiday at the sea side but this time we made a little change and we have chosen to go to the mountains. The sea still remains my favorite place for the summer holiday because I like to be tan.

First we went to Bucharest, where we spent a few days. You may not believe me but although Bucharest is the capital of my country, I never had the chance to visit it. Shame on me! About Bucharest and what I visited there I will tell you in a future post.

Am I talking too much? Back on topic… our plan was to cross Transfagarasan, of course, with the car because it is a long way, around 90 kilometers.

First stop was in Arges because we wanted to visit The Cathedral of Curtea de Arges, known for “The Legend of Master Manole”, the man who built his wife in the wall of this monastery.

In our way we decided to stop and visit The Poenari Castle, a citadel built from rocks at an altitude of 850 m. We didn’t know when we start walking up that it will take us 1480 steps of concrete to get to the top. Crazy, no? It took about 30 minutes but the view was worth it.

Mai bine sa va povestesc despre vacanta petrecuta in Romania.

Next stop was the Barrage and the Lake Vidraru. This dam is the highest dam in Romania, with a height of 166 meters. The lake is really a breath taking landscape to see.

The Transfagarasan road, a road through clouds and mountains, is one of the most famous road in Romania, and even in Europe, due to the height at which it was built, beautiful landscapes and numerous switchbacks. The road is spectacular because it crosses the Fagaras Mountain, the highest mountains in Romania. Transfagarasan reaches an altitude of 2042 meters and is the second road in Romania as altitude after Transalpina. CarsRoute classifed Transfagarasan road on the first place among the most beautiful roads in the world.

The last stop it should have been Balea Waterfall, but the route was too dangerous to climb because it has been raining, so we left this part of the journey for the next day.

To be continued…

Lacul are o priveliste ce iti taie respiratia.
