10 Mar Blush Styling- en Beautydag
This was my first event attending as a blogger and I can say it was more than I expected. Lovely people, lovely place and a day to remember!
About a week ago, at Blush Academy & Agency, an event brought bloggers, pers and BV’s all together. The event was called Styling- en Beautydag and it mixed Fashion with Beauty into one single beautiful day.
“Of course I’m in!” I reply promptly when receiving an invitation via e-mail, I wanted to come and I would have come without a special invitation! :) It’s something that interested me and it is part from the world I created for myself.
I woke up late that morning, not knowing what outfit to choose and what makeup to wear. I wanted to look at my best… after all, this was the first time introducing myself as a blogger. Trying different outfits, I finally went for a gold, sequin trousers (I wasn’t very sure about them, thinking it will be too much) and a black lace bodysuit. As for the makeup, I went for neutral colours which included gold, of course, I had to match!
Let me tell you first about Blush Academy & Agency: is a Fashion end Make-up school founded by Palmira Proietti and Caroline Rigo. They have courses in everything related with fashion and beauty and they are also an unique agency for freelance make-up artists, fashion stylists and hair stylists. At Blush Academy you learn from the fashion and beauty experts the tricks of the trade! So you become a pro and there is the opportunity to work for Blush Agency.
About the two pretty ladies: Palmira Proietti worked for ten years in Marketing & Sales in the fashion and beauty sector, including for Levi’s Europ, Jbc, Maasmechelen Village and Le Visage. She is currently a freelance stylist and makeup artist.
Caroline Rigo started working as a kindergarten teacher but after one year she joined the make-up world and since then she is a freelance makeup artist. She is now the owner of the beauty salon Le Visage in Hasselt and she opened the first Inglot shop in België. She is also active as a distributor for makeup brands such as Bella Pierre and Per-fekt. Palmira and Caroline decided, after a lot of pleasant cooperation together, to share their passion and therefore this is how Blush Academy & Agency was born.
What’s in trend for 2015
Work in progress: making the mood board
The Styling- en Beautydag began with a workshop about fashion, taught by Palmira, who gave us all kinds of styling tips about wardrobe planning, the effects of colours on people, the body type we have and what is on trend for the next season. I was very happy to find out that I have an X type of figure, the perfect figure, as they say. Average size accessories fits me the best: no mega oversized watches, handbags and so on because I am also not that tall.
Based on many fashion magazines each of us made a mood board, from which we could see what style we have. It was interesting to know that my style was… well, I am like a chameleon (Palmira said), I like to wear every style, depending on the mood.
After a delicious spaghetti bolognese lunch, we received from Caroline a second workshop about beauty. She taught us everything you need to know about a good skin care routine and how to do a beautiful day make-up, using products from Inglot, Bellapierre (Mineral makeup), Per-fekt, Intense Derma. And of course what is make-up without a good set of brushes? We used the Real Tecniques brushes. You can find all this products at Le Visage or at the Inglot shop in Hasselt.
I’m gonna tell you a secret: the beauty workshop was something extra for me as I already took a make-up course, learning from the best, from Caroline Rigo herself.

Think it was fun? No – it was lots of fun with a nice goodie bag.
A breath of fresh air for me as a blogger.
Basically, it was like a kind of legitimacy to me. Someone to tell me that – yes, your world is real and what you’re doing here is the future we’re heading.
And so a new level of confidence was born.
I’m glad they invited me and I’m glad I got to meet all those girls shining in their own way.
